Printing without print server
With Mercury Serverless Printing, you can completely eliminate the need for print servers without uploading your data to the cloud.
Your print data is prepared directly on your computer and sent to the desired printer.

Even for pull print, Mercury Follow"2"Print no longer requires a print server. Your documents simply wait on your PC or laptop until you have approved them for printing on a device and are not uploaded to the cloud.
The Mercury Cloud organizes the communication of your printer with your PC via the MQTT method known from many "Smart Devices".
The choice of output device is completely up to you, as you can easily authenticate and pick up your documents at any printer from any manufacturer.

Printing without printer drivers
Only docuFORM's patented Global Printer Client technology makes it possible to print completely without drivers, but still with full functionality. For this purpose, all information about your printers is collected via the Mercury MPS. The printers are immediately available for your printing without having to worry about printer drivers or other configurations.
The Mercury Cloud only collects the information about your printer that is needed to create the print record.
All of your printer's features are 100% supported. New devices or changes to devices, such as a paper format change or a new finishing module, are automatically captured in real time and made available to all users. The usual driver updates and other configurations - even after firmware updates - are no longer necessary.
For users, the usual process of printing a document does not change. You print as you would with your usual original driver - just without the associated disadvantages.

Mobile Printing App
With the Mobile Printing App, you can access your print jobs anytime, anywhere in the world, authenticate to any print device, and print or securely share your documents with colleagues.
Print jobs that are waiting to be picked up for Follow "2 "Print can be easily started on any output device via the smartphone app. A display on the device is no longer necessary for this.
The print data is not transferred to the smartphone, only the output on the device is initialized via the app.
Workflow via the app works worldwide without the need to open your network separately. This enables communication via a REST API with OAuth 2.0 security. Documents remain secure on your network and are shared via the app for printing or distributed to any colleagues with Share"2"Print.

Hybrid work
For client-independent follow"2"print, you can also operate a hybrid environment with local file storage if required.
Mixed operation of multiple networks with and without storage, for example for head office and extensions, is also possible.
Direct prints are also sent directly to the output device. The HDD system is used to temporarily store the print jobs so that they can be retrieved at any time.

Home office printing
Of course, printing is also done in the home office.
Regardless of whether you work directly on your PC or laptop, use a VPN connection or RDP session, or are connected via Citrix, you need neither printer drivers nor print servers.
Direct prints are made as usual, "Follow"2"Print jobs are stored on your client or, in the case of hybrid environments, you store the documents on your company's file system and simply retrieve them via "Follow"2"Print workflow on a device of your choice the next time you visit the office.
You can also "announce" your home office printers to the Mercury Cloud with just 2 clicks using the MPS Smartphone App and then select them as the output device on the PC.
Sometimes private printers are used at the home office - thanks to GPC technology, you no longer need printer drivers for them, which also solves the problem of "private printer drivers" and their maintenance on company devices.

The security of your documents must also be a top priority for printing solutions.
Therefore, print data generally does not belong in the cloud for us. Therefore, although we control the printing process via our cloud, your network does not have to be opened separately for this purpose and your print data always remains securely with you in the network.
Therefore, with the Mercury solution, all print data remains on the local networks and is only routed to the desired output device via the cloud.
The solution works within the Microsoft standard. Therefore, networks do not need to be opened separately either!
The communication of the user clients (GPC) with the Mercury Cloud as well as between the printing systems and the cloud takes place securely via a REST API with OAuth 2.0 authentication. Here, the real-time configuration of the printing systems and updates are loaded in order to always have access to the currently available printer landscape.
The use of MQTT as a communication protocol is extremely well suited for cloud solutions, as there is very little communication traffic. Smart home devices also communicate via this protocol, for example.
