Sample: Metacode / DJDE Emulation
Up to now, the Xerox
Metacode /
LCDS printing format has forced users to employ
Xerox printing systems exclusively. Emigration would only be possible by changing the software application, which would involve excessively high costs.
Mercury converts these printing data into standardised
PCL /
PDF data formats, allowing users to employ any compatible printing system, regardless of the manufacturer. At the same time, further data interfaces such as Internet or archiving systems are opened up by
PDF.
Sample: XES Emulation
Up to now, the Xerox
XES printing format has forced users to employ
Xerox printing systems exclusively - yet the production of Xerox printing systems with
XES emulation has already been discontinued.
With its
XES emulation in accordance with
PCL /
PDF,
Mercury represents a way of avoiding the high investment costs associated with making changes to the software. At the same time, users have the possibility of employing alternative compatible
PCL /
PDF printing systems. Likewise, further data interfaces such as Internet or archiving systems are opened up by
PDF.
Sample: IPDS Emulation
IBM
IPDS users are currently forced to employ original
IBM printing systems, as these are not compatible with other system worlds such as standard
PCL.
Mercury allows the
IPDS printing data to be converted into a standard format
PCL /
PDF, thus making it possible to use all current printing systems.
PCL data from a Windows Office world, as well as Host or
AS400 IPDS data, can now simultaneously be printed out on any
PCL /
PDF printer. At the same time, all functionalities such as "page event" echoes are kept. In addition, all printing tasks, whether from an
IPDS system or from the Office world, can be administered by
Mercury in a standardised fashion.
Sample: Prescribe Emulation
Prescribe users are currently forced to employ original printing systems from
Kyocera.
Mercury allows the
Prescribe printing data to be converted into a standard format
PCL /
PDF, thus making it possible to use all current printing systems.
Prescribe data from a Windows Office world can now simultaneously be printed out on any
PCL /
PDF printer. At the same time, further data interfaces such as Internet or archiving systems are opened up by
PDF.
