Mercury Product News:
Fleetmanagement now with maintenance preview and local printing systems support
[February 2010]
Today we would like use this opportunity to inform you about the Mercury
Fleet & Servicemanagement 3.0 package, which is available from now on.
This new Mercury Fleet & Servicemanagement 3.0 package has two major new
functionalities included:
1. Support of local PC connected printing systems
From now on, the Mercury enhancement module 'SNMP extender' is available.
The 'SNMP extender' is installed on the Windows workstation PC and
communicates with the local attached printer. In doing so, the meter
readings of the local attached printing system are collected and
transferred from the 'SNMP extender module' to the global Fleet &
Servicemanagement software. For that, the software uses standardized
protocols.

2. Maintenance preview - Currently the Fleet & Servicemanagement has a built-in 'Printer
Monitoring' function. With the help of this functionality all printer
states of all various locations can be displayed and analysed on one
screen. This functionality is enhanced now with the maintenance preview
module. Now upcoming maintenance events within any desired time frame
can be displayed on the screen with one click. This simplifies the
planning of service deployments dramatically. Additional customer visits
can be omitted, because servicing of printing systems can be done
providently now. A considerable increase of service efficiency, combined
with a reduction of costs, are the result of this enhancement module.
Service Optimization with Maintenance Preview
Both enhancement modules are free of costs and part of the Mercury Fleet
& Servicemanagement package. The charging of the complete system is
still done only related to the existing amount of printer licenses at
the Fleet & Servicemanagement server.
Outlook:
As another major enhancement of the Mercury Fleet & Servicemanagement,
currently the work on the 'dynamic reports' function is in progress.
This functionality will allow the recognition and analysis of not only
standardized private MIB meter readings of printing systems, but also
the recognition and analysis of individual meter readings. The release
of this function enhancement is planned for Q2/2010.
